The dealer showroom blanks aren't large enough diameter if I remember correctly for a sten barrel. In that case, make a solid or blocked barrel(non barrel) with no chamber as well as a 16" barrel.

I'm just trying to keep this one on the cheap - I doubt it's something I'll ever shoot more than a mag or two through - mostly it'll be a wall-hanger. The Sten Gun was developed to quickly replenish the British Armys high equipment losses after retreating from Dunkirk using simple. The special thing about this weapon was its simple but robust construction. The Sten was a sub-machine gun of the British Army in World War II. Thedealershowroom has 9mm chambered and unchambered for 40-60 iirc. With the Sten MK II SMG, AGM brings a piece of world history to life. With the longer barrel it would have to help performance. Gene there has to be some 9mm barrels long enough if i remenber right i bought some from the surplus guy in k falls? You could get away with using the original barrel nut/shroud that came with your kit, since teh repro canvas "supressor cover" will cover the cooling holes. OTH, if you permanently attach the fake suppressor to the barrel nut, and run a sleeve who's ID matches snugly with the OD of your barrel extension, it'll work just like a regular Sten barrel nut/barrel shroud, only longer and closed in on the end. Keep in mind that if you permanently attach your "suppressor", you'll also have to permanently attach teh barrel nut, leaviung enough play that you can screw it on and off. i used a metal rod that fit inside of dom and turned it down to fit in barrel about 3". 1/16" over, cut a recess in end to fit over barrel and welded in place.

On my pps43 carbine i used a piece of dom tubing w/ inside dia. If the fake has a bore that's perhaps 10mm - that oughtta do it, without bloop tube effects - yes? I'm thinking of using the original barrel, and permanently attaching the fake suppressor. I recommend making the "suppressor" short enough that your barrel JUST pokes through (snugly) the endcap - so there is no question that you haven't actually built a suppressor.

The OD of the suppressor is the same as the receiver - I've seen guys just use the same dimensional tube (welded on to a barrel nut or barrel shroud) to make the fake suppressor long enough to accomodate the 16" barrel. Any other ideas to make a non-sbr STEN look correct for the period? I don't have the dimensions for the silenced version, but I'm willing to contemplate a permanent fake suppressor. So I've pretty much figured out my STEN Mk III - but I need to figure out a barrel / extension that passes the 16" test (16.5" by my standards) that still looks authentic.
